When I first saw this collection, the first thing I thought was it was only suitable for children's pages! But it is not! The collection is so versatile!

I created this layout with pictures from our annual trip to a sculpture display at one of the beach side suburbs of Adelaide.

The right page was Pinterest inspired. To create my layout, I used White Daisy, Lagoon, Candy Apple & Espresso cardstock, Sweet Safari Paper Pack & Complete Creativity Cricut Collection for the title. This layout is perfect for using up scraps of paper and cardstock. The photos on the right page are all 3" x 4" and 3" x 3" with strips of paper filling some of the gaps.

Sweet Safari cards

 

During March, the Close to My Heart Featured collection is Sweet Safari!  I have to say it wasn't my favourite collection when I first saw it, but I do love the Primary Colours in the papers. And when I really looked at the paper, I could see just how versatile it really is! I particularly love the Candy Apple polka dot paper. So, I have used it to create some cards!

The first card I want to share with you was an idea shared at our local Consultant meeting by fellow consultant, Nell Ward. For this card, we cut an inch off the bottom of the front of the card, then added a piece of the Candy Apple Polka Dot paper to the inside. I then stamped a border using the February Stamp of the Month - S2102 Doodled Borders, using Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink pad. The sentiment and coffee cup are from the cute Z3919 - Whole Latte Love Stamp & Thin Cuts set. The coffee cup is coloured using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers.  I finished off the card with some Clear Sparkles. 

This next card was created using the same idea as above, but with a standard A5 card. I used the same Polka Dot paper from the Sweet Safari paper pack, with some Avocado, Lagoon & White Daisy Cardstock, a Zip Strip and and some Teal Shimmer Trim from my stash. I used the Fancy Brackets Thin Cuts for the Lagoon & White Daisy cardstock pieces & finished my card with some Silver Embellishing Thread.

When fellow consultant, Lisa Stenz shared a video on her YouTube channel of a Shutter Card, I knew I needed to make one (or more). So I decided to use Lisa's pattern for my card!

To create this card, I used White Daisy & Peach cardstock, S2102 - Doodled Borders Stamp Set, Sage, Smoothie, Blue Belle, Canary, Peach & Black ink pads, Silver Stickles, Stitched Brackets Thin Cuts, Z3911 - Happiness Lives Here cardmaking stamp & thin cuts,  3d & Thin 3D Foam Tape & Lisa's Design Space File that she shared with her video.

I really enjoy making these cards - I have already made several!
