Seaside

I love the blue wood grain/dots paper from the Seaside paper pack! So this week I have used it to create the "Dizzy Circles" pages in the previous post as well as a cute little bag with some matching 3"x3" gift cards with envelopes.

I added some flowers stamped from the Shower Flowers stamp set (C1612) with Glacier, Lagoon & Topiary Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads.

Come back soon and see what else I have been creating.

...more Dizzy Circles...

I wanted to create a scrapbook layout using the Dizzy Circles stamp set to match the card I made earlier. So today, I used the woodgrain look paper from the Seaside Paper Pack and added Colonial White Cardstock and Kraft Cardstock and some Sunset Chevron Washi Tape, for a splash of colour, to create my page. I also used the Make It From Your Heart Vol 2 Idea Book for inspiration - which I found in pattern #10 (page 24).
The ink colours I used were Lagoon, Glacier & Desert Sand. Below is the page almost completed - I still need to add my title and journalling.

Dizzy Circles

When I saw the Dizzy Circles stamp set (C1610), it reminded me of the Spirograph set my siblings and I had as children. Then I wondered how I would use the stamps. So this week, I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest to create this card - I can't find the card now so I can't give credit for the inspiration (sorry).

I used Indian Corn Blue, Glacier & Flaxen Inks to stamp the images. The sentiment was stamped in Indian Corn Blue using the Timely Tidings stamp set (M1047). I used Glacier Cardstock under the border made from White Daisy Cardstock which is edged with the Scallop Border Punch

Come back again soon and see what else I have created.

Thank you Ann (& George)

Twelve years ago, I held my first scrapbooking retreat with my friend and fellow consultant, Wendy with about 20 ladies in a small venue. It was a fabulous weekend with many new friendships made, lots of pages completed and not much sleep. The following year, because of the time of year, our numbers were down, prices were up so we held a much smaller event in a very tiny venue, but had lots of fun! Then, 10years ago, we moved to the current location - although not the same venue. Wendy and I planned to do the cooking as well as run the event, but one of our wonderful customers offered her mum, Ann, to do the cooking for us! And we did not look back! Ann has been with us for 10 years now - making sure we are well fed! In her second year, she brought her husband George along to help out! And he has been with us for 9 years! Ann bakes in advance and also during the weekend, so we have lots of fabulous food to keep us going. There is a standing order for her potato and leek soup for lunch on Saturday and she always cooks a roast dinner for Saturday night. We all come home from the weekend a couple of kilos heavier, because we can't say no to all the yummy food Ann & George prepare for us. A couple of years ago, George started spoiling the ladies by cooking porridge for breakfast! - it has always just been get your own cereal and/or toast.

So to celebrate 10years of Ann being with us, I decided to make her a special gift. Of course it had to be a "paper" gift - because that is what I love doing and am good at. I think the Brushed paper suits Ann very well, so that was what I used. First I needed a card to get all the ladies from retreat to sign.

I used my Cricut Explore and Design Space to make a card in the shape of a cup.The inside is blank, so all the ladies at the retreat can write a message to Ann if they wish to.
I added an extra sheet to the card organiser to add miscellaneous cards in.

The bag is full of cards to go in the organsier.

I am so thankful that Ann's daughter, Leanne, invited her mum to help with the cooking 10 years ago. She is a part of our retreat family. And I can't forget Leanne either. She always helps her mum with baking before the event and is the best kitchen cleaner I think I know. The kitchen always sparkles by the time we leave!

Thank you, Ann, George and Leanne!

10 Reasons...

I recently attended a team meeting where the idea of a mini album of 10 reasons or things or memories or whatever you wish were put in a My Creations Kraft Mini Book with some photos and using PML (Picture My Life) cards to decorate. So I decided to make one for my 14 year old daughter with ten things to remember. She was due home from her first school mission trip - to Normanton in Far North Queensland. We are very proud of her - this trip was way out of her comfort zone! I added photos that I already had printed and hadn't put in albums along with cards - mainly from the Chantilly PML set into the Kraft Mini Book.

Get your album and Picture My Life cards from my website and create a book like this for those special people in your life!

Taste of Summer "Patterns on Patterns"

A little while ago, on the Close To My Heart blog, there was a page using circles cut from the Blossom paper pack and stitched to the page. So I thought I would try the same idea using the Taste of Summer paper pack, but with "faux" stitching using the Stitch Guide, Foam Guide & Piercing & Embossing Tool Kit. I added some stamped pieces of fruit from the Taste of Summer stamp set a few sparkles to finish it off.

Don't forget that you can only get the Taste of Summer paper pack and stamp set during May!  Go to my website to get yours today !

Berry Sweet

I can't believe how versatile the Taste of Summer Paper Pack is. I created this page today, based on a layout by fellow consultant, Karen Pedersen.

To create the pages, I used Taste of Summer Paper Pack, Canary, Black & White Daisy Cardstock, Taste of Summer Stamp Set (CC1039), Cranberry, Pixie & Sweet Leaf Exclusive Inks stamp pads, Scallop Border Punch, Black Shimmer Trim. I also used Marquee Uppercase (E1029) and Handwritten Print (E1030) stamp sets with black ink.

May is National Scrapbooking Month

This month, we celebrate National Scrapbooking Day (and Month) with a fabulous exclusive paper pack from CTMH! You can now order yours online from my website for just $12.95! (And there is no qualifying order needed).

If you purchase the paper pack from my website, I will email you the "Taste of Summer Workshop" cutting guide by Susan Williams - a very talented and generous fellow consultant from the US. Her cutting guides are very detailed and easy to follow. The Taste of Summer Workshop guide by Susan includes 6 double page layouts and 16 cards - 2 each of 8 designs. Below is one of the layouts from Susan's workshop that I created today.

My pages look a little different to Susan's original pages but I am happy with the end result.
Christmas seems to be the theme of the pages I have completed using this paper pack, but I do have many other photos to be added to pages, so will show something different in the future.

On this page, I added a couple of cricut cut titles and embellishments and it is the perfect paper pack for these photos of our team Christmas celebrations.
There is also a complementing D size stamp set available for $27.00 that can also be purchased.

Watch Close To My Heart’s blog, Instagram account, and Facebook page throughout the month for more projects inspired by Taste of Summer. This paper packet is only available during May while supplies last, so get your order in early. No matter where you are or what the weather may be, you deserve a little taste of summer in your life!

May also brings a NEW Stamp of the Month - available for just $5.00 with any purchase of $75.00 or more.

sorry about the quality of the photo
This page is based on the one on page 21 in the Annual Inspirations, featuring the Just Sayin' stamp set.

This page features not only the Taste of Summer paper pack, but also the Just Sayin' stamp set (S1505)
